Sixty-two-year-old Ushakiran Patel is another Indian player who got lucky while playing the Powerball lottery.
Mrs Patel entered the ranks of many earlier Indian international lottery winners on March 7, 2018, but her win scale is outstanding.
The retiree matched the first five numbers with the $1 000 000 second prize winners. On March 7, the winning numbers were 06-13-19-36-51 and number 18 for Powerball.
The winner said that, through the easy pick choice, she chose the numbers at random. Mrs Patel got lucky as an infrequent lottery player!
The winner said she didn’t know what she was going to spend her cash on, but it gave her a well-deserved extra boost as a retiree.
As a one-time lump sum payout, the $1 000 000 Powerball second prize is awarded. Mrs Patel collected a total of $633 040 after mandatory withholdings and taxes.
As a significant Powerball winner of Indian origin, Mrs Patel is not alone. For a long time, the originally American, now international lottery has smiled favourably at desi players.
Previous winners include Nandall Mangall, a player from India who won more than Rs. 1744 crores in the Powerball jackpot!
