Jose Mourinho wanted AS Roma to sign Manchester United’s Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata. Both players’ contracts are coming to an end, and they may transfer to Italy in the summer.
AS Roma is willing to sign the two Manchester United players on Jose Mourinho wish list. They were also linked to RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer and two Tottenham Hotspur players, Eric Dier and Pierre-Emile Hjbjerg.
AS Roma named Jose Mourinho as their new head coach yesterday after Paulo Fonseca announced his departure. Tottenham fired the former Chelsea and Manchester United boss last month, leaving him without a club.
Jose Mourinho has collaborated with both Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata at Chelsea and Manchester United. Although Mourinho sold the latter during his time at Chelsea, the Serbian was brought in after transferring to Old Trafford. At Chelsea, Juan Mata was not in Jose Mourinho’s plans, but the manager used the Spaniard often at Old Trafford.
In the summer, Jose Mourinho will take over as manager of AS Roma. After managing Inter Milan from 2008 to 2010, this will be his second stint in Serie A.
