Stoke City Midfielder Close To Securing Transfer Leaving Bet365 Stadium
According to the Stoke Sentinel, Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye is about to secure a transfer back to Turkey to join newly-promoted Fatih Karagumruk.
At the Bet365 Stadium, Ndiaye finds himself well below the pecking order and does not seem to be in Michael O’Neill’s plans as he tries to challenge the Potters for promotion. During the last two campaigns, the 29-year-old had spent time on loan with both Trabzonspor and Galatasaray.
The midfielder’s contract at Stoke will be until 2022. But still, since he arrived at the club in 2018 for around £ 14 million, he has managed to make just a few appearances for the Potters, and Ndiaye had been connected earlier in the transfer window with a move to Besiktas.
Ndiaye is now thought to be moving back to Turkey for the season. He doesn’t want to play at this season’s Bet365 Stadium, with the midfielder set to make a move to Fatih Karagumruk as they aim to cement themselves back on the Top Turkish flight.
It’s little surprise to see that Ndiaye is close to securing another move away from Stoke, with the midfielder not in O’Neil’s strategy and thus willing to make sure he transfers to a side where he can be assured game time in the campaign.
The move to Stoke by Ndiaye has proven to be a costly transfer error by the Potters, with the midfielder bound to a deal until 2022 and thus challenging to move permanently, which is why over the last two campaigns he was loaned out.
