Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar said he’s willing to mentor every country’s fast bowlers — even if a bid from the Indian arch-rivals comes his way. In an interview with the Social Networking Site, the 44-year-old pacemaker said he wants to help develop violent and fast bowlers who can take on opposition batsmen, no matter which nation they come from.
Akhtar responded that he will definitely be a coach for the Indian because his job is to spread knowledge.Many in India were shocked by the bad ties between neighbors who have fought three wars since their freedom and were fiercely split in 1947. Since 2012, the two countries have not faced each other in a bilateral game. Akhtar said he is going to create more violent, quicker and more talkative bowlers than the current ones, who are going to tell the batsmen he is going to enjoy a lot.
Akhtar said that he would also like to mentor bowlers in the cash-rich Indian Premier League. The bowler appeared for Kolkata Knight Riders in the inaugural IPL season, but the Indian government forbade Pakistani cricketers from the game in 2009. The speedster retired from international cricket in 2011 following more than a decade of intrigue and fame, including the world’s fastest bowling pace at 100.23 miles per hour.
