Mushfiq Bat Being Released for Auction
Bangladesh wicket-keeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim opened an auction on Saturday for his iconic bat Live on social media. Mushfiq’s bat was auctioned on the online auction website ‘Games for Life’ on the online shopping portal ‘Pickaboo’ from 10 PM on 9 May 2020 to 10 PM on 14 May 2020. The auction was held via a live video conference on the Facebook page of ‘Sports for Life’. The live session was hosted by the organizers together with Mushfiq and Under-19 skipper Akbar Al.
In order to raise funds to help the less privileged during the Covid-19 crisis, Mushfiq put his SS bat with which he had registered Bangladesh’s first double-century test against Sri Lanka in Galle in 2013. The bat was set up at a price of 600,000 Taka. Together with Mushfiq, Bangladesh U19 World Cup winner Captain Akbar Ali offered his jersey and gloves for auction while Mosaddek Hossain offered his hat. Former Bangladesh ODI Captain Mashrafe bin Mortaza decided to donate an autographed cap at the Taka 100000 floor price auction.
