MS Dhoni cleared to join Chennai Super Kings training camp after tests negative for COVID-19
Fans are also eagerly anticipating MS Dhoni’s return to the field along with the announcement of the much-awaited IPL 2020. After India’s ouster in the 2019 World Cup, the former India skipper hasn’t braced the ground. There have been several speculations regarding his international future, but Dhoni is expected to make his comeback while leading Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the IPL’s thirteenth edition is scheduled to begin in the UAE from 19 September. The BCCI has set guidelines in advance of the tournament specifying that a player must undergo two COVID-19 tests before franchises enter UAE. Everyone who tests favourably will have to be quarantined for 14 days and will have to pass two tests on that.
Negative testing is compulsory in both tests for a player to be eligible to qualify for the UAE. Dhoni also sent his swab to a private hospital, and the check turned out to be negative, paving the way for the stalwart of the Ranchi to pursue his IPL 2020 trade.
Dhoni will enter the training camp of CSK first before the team flies down to the Gulf region. Considered one of the IPL’s most productive skippers, Dhoni has led CSK to three IPL titles. Dhoni spent time with his family at his Ranchi farmhouse amid his sports truancy. Dhoni has also recently been spotted on 7 July celebrating his birthday at his farmhouse with Hardik and Krunal Pandya.
IPL 2020 is the first cricketing task for Dhoni since World Cup 2019. In the cash-rich league, all eyes will be on the veteran to prove his worth. As said, Dhoni ‘s success will be a crucial factor behind his international return in this year’s IPL.
