Jasprit Bumrah: Most of the people believe that I would be the last player to play for India
Jasprit Bumrah has quickly risen to become one of the world’s leading fast bowlers, but he says many people believe that he’d be the last player to play for India.The Indian pacer made the interview with former India batsman Yuvraj Singh during a live session on Instagram.
“Many people told me I’m not going to play for long, they think that I will be the last person to play for the nation,” Bumrah said when Yuvraj asked him about his unordinary bowling action. “They told me I’d just participate in the Ranji Trophy, but I kept on progressing and continued with my action,” said the 26-year-old, who made his India debut in January 2016 after his IPL feats.
Bumrah has participated in 64 ODIs, 50 T20s and 14 Tests. He made his Test debut in January 2018 and soon became the go to bowler of Virat Kohli even in the format of five days. Yuvraj told Bumrah during the talk that he had predicted that the pacer would continue to become the “world’s number one bowler” . And when he hit the spot in the T20 rankings in 2017, he made it.
