IPL 2020: Assistant physiotherapist of Delhi Capitals tested positive for Covid-19
On Sunday, Indian Premier League franchise Delhi Capitals announced that the side’s assistant physiotherapist has tested positive for Coronavirus.
According to the Delhi Capitals’s statement, the assistant physiotherapist was going through his compulsory quarantine and had tested negative for his first two tests on arrival in Dubai, and tested positive for the third test.
The statement added that the staff had yet to meet, and was not in touch with any franchise’s players or staff. He was immediately isolated, and is currently in Dubai’s IPL isolation facility for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to test two negative reports to join the Delhi Capitals squad.
The news comes close on the heels of Chennai Super Kings’s 13 members (including two players) tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of the 13th edition of the Twenty20 League, which will be held on 19th September in Abu Dhabi, where defending champion Mumbai Indians will face off with the Chennai Super Kings.
